All 2017 1 Kilo Australian Silver Rooster Coins in this product listing is a BU specimen. Coins in Brilliant Uncirculated condition show no signs of wear and tear, though you may notice issues ranging from breaks in the luster and spotted surfaces to contact marks from the coining process.

On the obverse of each Australian Silver Rooster coin is the image of Queen Elizabeth II, created by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998. The Queen’s image appears on the obverse of all Australian currency, and though this image is now outdated with a new portrait release in July 2015, it remains on Lunar Series II coins to lend continuity to the series.

The reverse of the 2017 1 Kilo Australian Silver Rooster Coin bears the design for the Year of the Rooster coins. In this imagery, you’ll notice a single rooster accompanied by a hen and three chicks. Engravings identify the coin series by name, the Perth Mint, and the Chinese symbol for roosters.

Perth Mint’s Lunar Series II coin program features new releases of the Chinese Lunar Calendar animals compared to its original series. Each new coin release features the animal for the given calendar year, with 2017 representing the Year of the Rooster.
