2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Tube (40 Coins, BU)
There are only two gold coin programs the United States Mint issues on an annual basis, the Gold Eagle and the Gold Buffalo. The American Gold Eagle is the older of the two programs and is considered the official gold bullion coin of the United States. This series is available in four weights, with the 1/2 oz Gold Eagle the largest of the fractional-ounce options. Now, 2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Tubes are available online.

For the obverse of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin, the United States Mint features the iconic image of Lady Liberty. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the image shows the full-length figure of Liberty in front-facing relief was she strides toward the viewer. Her right hand holds a torch aloft as her left hand clutches an olive branch. The background includes the U.S. Capitol, sunrays, and a ring of stars.
In the reverse design of 2025 American Gold Eagles, you will find a modernized image of the American bald eagle. Introduced in July 2021, this new image of the bald eagle was created by Jennie Norris. With incredible levels of detail, the image shows the head of the bald eagle in left-profile relief.
American Gold Eagles debuted in 1986 with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins available in the BU Series. The 1/2 oz Gold Eagle wasn’t available as a proof specimen until 1987 and was later available a burnished specimen from 2006 to 2008. The highest mintages recorded in the 1/2 oz weight, to date, are the 1986 issue (599,566) and the 1999 issue (263,013).
