Starting with the Zambia Elephant in 1999, the African Wildlife Series has grown significantly. Since 2004, Somalia has produced the African Elephant coins each year. This series includes both gold and silver options, with silver coins mainly offered in weights starting from 1 oz and going up to a 1 kilo silver coin. In the gold range, fractional-ounce coins make up the majority of the options for investors. Today, 2025 1/4 oz Somalia Gold Elephant Coins are available.

Tusks are essential tools for digging for water, stripping bark from trees, and defending themselves. Unfortunately, these same tusks have made elephants targets for poachers, leading to significant population declines in many areas.

On the obverse of 2025 Somalia Gold Elephants, you’ll find the Somali coat of arms. The national emblem for Somalia consists of a crowned shield that features a single star at the center, similar to the national flag. This star is set against a background of horizontal lines, with the shield supported on either side by a leopard.
The reverse of 2025 1/4 oz Gold Elephant Coins comes with a new depiction of the African bush elephant. The design features a large, mature bush elephant with long tusks marching forward across the African savanna. There is a patch of brush in the foreground and a lone tree in the distance. The sun rises into the sky in the upper-left portion of the design field.
