Each 2025 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coin offered here comes with a Mint State 69 certification. Coins with this grade are known as near-perfect specimens with full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detractions. These flaws are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside the primary focal points. First Strike coins are those the PCGS receives for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
Since its inception, the Gold Eagle Coin has featured an image of the American bald eagle on the reverse. Native American cultures have long revered the bald eagle as a sacred creature, viewing it as a messenger between humans and the divine. Its feathers are considered holy objects in many tribes’ religious ceremonies, and the bird features prominently in creation stories and spiritual teachings.
The obverse of the 2025 American Gold Eagle comes with the iconic image of Lady Liberty created in 1907. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this effigy of Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other was created for the $20 Double Eagle and used in circulation until 1933.
On the reverse of 2025 1 oz Gold Eagle Coins is a modern depiction of the American bald eagle. Introduced on the coins in mid-2021 during the 35th-anniversary celebration of the series, this design from Jennie Norris shows the bald eagle’s head in left-profile relief with intricate layers of detail.
